Pseudo-Pelagianism
Tuesday Oct 03, 2023
Tuesday Oct 03, 2023
Welcome back to our fourth annual Heresy Month. What could be scarier than bad theology? Nothing. On the first Heresy Month 2023 episode, the guys approach the topic of heresy from a different perspective. Instead of talking about heresy outright, they discuss how heresies can manifest themselves in semi, pseudo, and neo ways. Jens was even bold enough to claim that Semi-Pelagian theology crept its way into Charles Finney, resulting in the state of the American church today.

Sin Unto Death (1 John 5:16-17)
Tuesday Sep 12, 2023
Tuesday Sep 12, 2023
This week the guys tackle another listener recommendation (thanks Jeremy!). Back in February, Jeremy requested that they discuss the nature of the "sin unto death" as found in 1 John. What is it? Who can commit it? Is it spiritual or physical death? Both? This is one of the most difficult passages in all of the New Testament to interpret.

Jens and Lukas recently had the privilege of sitting down with Kyle Meyaard-Schaap, the author of a recently published book entitled, "Following Jesus in a Warming World: A Christian Call to Climate Action."
Kyle was previously the vice president of the Evangelical Environmental Network. Additionally, he was the national organizer and spokesperson for Young Evangelicals for Climate Action, and he has been featured in news outlets such as CNN, PBS, NPR, NBC News, and U.S. News & World Report. He lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with his wife and two children.
On this episode, they discuss climate change from a Christian perspective, what meaningful steps can be taken to combat climate change, and how we ought to live with an "empathetic imagination" when it comes to issues surrounding our warming world.

Our 5 Most Influential Theologians
Tuesday Aug 22, 2023
Tuesday Aug 22, 2023
A listener (thanks Hayden!) recently suggested that we revisit our list of our most influential theologians. A lot can change in 3+ years. In our minds, nobody should have an identical list in a span that long. The 10 individuals (5 for each of us) on this list are currently shaping our minds, hearts, and actions. Who would make your top 5?

The Witch of Endor
Tuesday Aug 15, 2023
Tuesday Aug 15, 2023
This week the guys tackle another supernatural topic: The Witch of Endor. This strange Bible passage contains the story about Saul seeking wisdom from Samuel's spirit. He goes to a medium at Endor to do so. What's the deal with this peculiar account? Can this sort of thing still be replicated today? If so, should it be? There are no wizards named Harry in this far out tale.
